When I was living in Prague, I had the good fortune to fall in with the improv dance scene there and one of the best things that happened to me was the privilege of taking a workshop with Julyen Hamilton. In the workshop and the performance with Prague Improvisers Orchestra (of which I was member), there were dancers from their 20s to their late 60s. Hamilton himself said, "You can only do what you can do." He meant that you always have something you can say artistically within your present abilities. (Here's a good interview with him; the site is in Czech, but the interview is in English: https://operaplus.cz/rozhovor-plus-s-julyenem-hamiltonem-radikalita-tela/ )
I’ve been looking for writing on dance and am so happy you came across my timeline! I’m not a dancer but have taught yoga for a decade and find myself at a loss for how to write deeply about movement, whether it’s a yoga practice or the experience of watching a dance performance. So happy to follow along with you! Any recommendations for others to seek out?
welp, I am weepy. "My interest in dance — beyond actually dancing — is to explore its practice through writing, the deployment of language to creative and hopefully transformative ends." yes! I am so excited to read more of this exploration from you.

Please continue dancing. It's so important.

Thank you for this! I don’t have any recs off the top of my head but maybe I’ll put together a reading list? Now I’m getting ideas ;)
