This is so lovely and poignant, Martha. Happy anniversary 💐As a 51 year old with a 53 year old partner - neither of us ever married and no kids - our serviceberry moment when we met was the movie Greenberg - not quite as unusual but no one else we knew had seen it.
Thanks, Martha. Your story is the mirror opposite of my own: Susy and I met in college . . . freshman year, fall semester, Monday, 8AM--i.e., first class [she was still 17]. That was 57 years ago. Just typing that feels so odd--that's me? This old guy? Anyway, we avoided all the sturm und drang of young life/mid-life partnering . . . I sometimes wonder how I'd have gotten through it, such fraughtness! Loooong-term partnership has its own stuff [goes without saying]. When asked, we always say, Let's see, it'll be 54 years if we make it to Christmas [Christmas wedding] . . . Anyway, thanks for your tale, and, well, I was going to say--innocently--hang in there . . . until I remembered who I was talking to, so I guess I'll make it hang in there and twirl!
What a lovely way to give yourself some distance to paint the picture of your beautiful love story! Happy Anniversary! My husband and I will celebrate our one year on 07.30, and I have told our love story in my head a thousand ways, and I would like to try TPO! Thank you for sharing your ❤️ story! 🫶🏼
