Given how much I hate academia, is it weird that I feel strangely emotional about our Oberlin connection? Like overlapping lineages/writerly ancestry. I adore my students--all issues with the institution aside--and I think I'll share with them that my editor really enjoyed their 34th Obie reunion. :)

Please do! There was a lot of drama in the alumni Facebook group over moving the reunion from commencement to the fall, but one thing I loved about the fall timing was being there when school’s in session and the students are around. They were all so great! One of them, who I met at the OSCA picnic at Tank, said “I feel like I’m looking at myself in the future!” So sweet.

Thank you for including me with such great writers. I also gotta say, a fall reunion sounds a little better than commencement, like really being there instead of at this moment when the town and the college is untenable.

It was great. I get that there are issues around housing — some people stayed at hotels near the airport — but I am in support.

Thanks so much for introducing new (to me) writers. I'll put this in my list to read when I have time to savor.

When the cure is worse than the disease. Wow. Made my stomach hurt but oh so true.

The reunion sounds delightful. The closest I got to a reunion was when the Vertebrats had a reunion in CU. It was heavenly.
