It’s anniversary season — the one-year markers of both getting married and getting diagnosed are coming up fast! This time last year I was knee-deep in wedding planning and oblivious to the cancer. Or, well, not oblivious because I had made the mammogram appointment to get this weird lump investigated, but I was in serious denial — so much so that I had convinced myself the lump was just some strange kink in my pectoral muscle. Of course that makes no anatomical sense, but at the time it did not seem too terribly far-fetched. I was also, this time last year, deep in training for a circus performance and frankly feeling pretty ripped.
One year and a lot of muscle tone loss later, I’m glad to at least be back in the air and trying, slowly, to re-learn how to spin and fly. I was wildly naive about how long this would take! I thought I would be back in action by January ahahahahaha.
I am on vacation from the 9 to 5 this week and after a few wonderful days with extended family and friends we’re heading off into the forest shortly to recharge. I will have more to say on these other anniversaries soon, but right now for fun I thought I’d share with you here the video of that performance last May. I may paywall it later, so enjoy it while you can!
I remember that show. So many great performances. Hope to see you up there again some day soon!
Oh, thank you!
